Annual self assessment compliance run accurately on time
and with senior review
The penalties for late or incorrect returns have tightened. HMRC enquiries are more frequent. The introduction of Making Tax Digital for Income Tax is changing the way the work is delivered for unincorporated landlords and sole traders.
Our personal tax compliance service is built around a defined annual timetable, senior review and a named team that stays with you year after year.
The work is delivered well in advance of the statutory deadline and the position is reviewed for planning opportunities as part of the cycle.
The same named team handles your return year after year. The knowledge of your position, the elections previously made and the planning previously considered all stays in the relationship.
Where the return raises a planning question, we explore it as part of the cycle rather than waiting for a separate conversation.
![]()
Where your return has features that require specialist input, such as crypto assets, trust interactions, complex employment-related securities or international elements, the relevant specialist within the firm joins the compliance team for that part of the return.
Three principles run through the work:
The annual cycle runs to fixed dates well ahead of the filing deadline. The return is filed in good time and any payments are clear in advance.
The same named team handles your compliance year after year. The cumulative understanding of your position supports the work being done well.
Where the return exposes a planning point, such as a relief becoming available, an election worth making or a position worth reviewing, we put it in front of you with the analysis. Compliance and planning are joined at the point of the work.

From April 2026, individuals with combined income from self-employment and property above the threshold will need to keep digital records and submit quarterly updates to HMRC alongside the annual final declaration. The threshold reduces over the following years. We are working with affected clients on the practical implementation including software, record-keeping and the quarterly cycle.
Late filing triggers an initial £100 penalty with further penalties accruing if the delay continues. Interest is charged on tax paid late and surcharges apply for prolonged delays. Our cycle is designed so the return is filed well ahead of the deadline. Where late filing is unavoidable, for example because of late source data, we manage the position with HMRC and minimise the consequences.
Yes. That is a common arrangement. Where you have a financial adviser handling investments and we handle the tax compliance, we co-ordinate so the information needed for the return is collected efficiently and the planning advice is consistent. We work alongside existing professional teams routinely.
