Mike Cox is the Senior Partner and founder of Cox Costello & Horne, part of the wider Macalvins Group.
He brings decades of experience in assurance, accounting and tax to the firm and its clients. A Chartered Accountant and CBE, Mike established the practice in 1997 and has played a central role in shaping its growth, reputation and long-standing client relationships.
Mike began his career training with Cooper Lancaster Brewers before being seconded to Deloitte Haskins & Sells. He later became a Partner at Cooper Lancaster Brewers before going on to found Cox Costello & Horne, where he continues to lead from the front.
Throughout his career, Mike has worked with a wide range of clients, providing practical advice across assurance, accounting and tax. He is known for his straightforward approach and his ability to work through complex challenges to reach effective solutions.
Alongside his professional work, Mike has been actively involved in public service and governance. His roles have included serving as a councillor, school governor and college governor, as well as acting as a registered party treasurer.
As Senior Partner, Mikeremains focused on supporting clients and acting as an ambassador for the firm, maintaining the relationships and values that have underpinned its success.
Outside of work, Mike is a keen follower of Bolton Wanderers and English cricket and occasionally enjoys a round of golf.
